Ed
Maverick Race Jurassic Coast 54km
In October, client Ed completed his first ultra, smashing it at the Maverick Race Jurassic Coast 54km. This was a tough race with 1200m + of tricky elevation, but Ed did brilliantly!

I've been working with Max for about a month now, and I've already had an excellent experience that I'm happy to share. Max is incredibly responsive as a coach: he is friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The thing that has really impressed me is Max's eagerness to really understand me and my goals: what I want to achieve, how the the programme will fit to my life, and what I need to do to get me there. He's not afraid to challenge me (which I'm really grateful for) especially when it comes to wanting to over-book races or train when unwell. Max is very much an all-round coach, giving me the benefit of his experience and knowledge around all aspects of training and preparation including nutrition, hydration, kit, race prep, strategy, pre- and rehab, and mental preparedness. I'm really enjoying the variety of my programme of running, strength and mobility training and already feeling the benefits from an increased focus on strength (drawing on Max's skills as a PT). I'm really looking forward to getting start on my training for The Arc 50 and Summer Spine Challenger North once my imminent race is over. I have no doubt, based on what I've seen and experienced already, that Max will do everything in his power to help me get ready for these challenges so I start the race confident and calm. I also highly recommend his podcast (Trails, Tails & Fails), with Sarah Page and Rob Nugent (that lead me to Max in the first place!).

Max is an excellent and experience running coach who has strong knowledge of all things ultra! He has excellent and timely communication skills and a great rapport with clients, getting to know everyone on an individual level and what drives them. Max listens to your goals, flexes your training around real life and fosters a supportive role on the good and bad days. I have great faith in his leadership, knowledge and integrity. I have managed several PBs and even a podium under his guidance and feel my running has greatly benefited from his meticulous planning and advice on nutrition, hydration, psychology and race execution. Need a coach? Max is your man!
